Another exciting NHL season is almost here

See how Rogers makes it easy to watch, from start to finish

The puck is set to drop on another exciting new NHL® season and there’s no shortage of stellar storylines to follow. Will a Canadian team hoist the Stanley Cup® for the first time since 1993? Can superstar Sidney Crosby lead the Pittsburgh PenguinsTM to a third straight championship? How will the Vegas Golden KnightsTM fare in their first season? Team up with Rogers to stay on top of all the action.

After a 2016-17 NHL® campaign that saw five of the seven Canadian teams make the playoffs, the upcoming season – October 4 is opening night! – has hockey fans across the country eager to pick things up where they left off.

To recap: there was rookie sensation Auston Matthews leading Toronto to an unexpected post-season appearance and Edmonton megastar Connor McDavid spearheading the Oilers’ triumphant playoff return. There was Ottawa’s spirited Stanley Cup® surge, Calgary and Montreal making the top 16, as well as Vancouver and Winnipeg seeking to be part of the playoff picture. Could this be the year a Canadian squad claims the Stanley Cup® and hosts a championship parade?

It’s a wide-open race in the chase of hockey supremacy, as “Sid the Kid” and the Penguins try to become the first team to win three straight titles since the New York IslandersTM (who won four in a row from 1980-83).

New kids on the block, the Vegas Golden Knights, will look to remain competitive in their inaugural season. The newest Pacific Division residents play their first game on October 6 in Dallas.

With the stage set for a riveting NHL® season, Rogers is ready to roll out an all-star lineup of comprehensive hockey coverage and there are many ways to get in on the action.
